Areas where the GEODRILL has proved of value include:
The Geodrill HD33 is of most value in situations where relatively shallow drilling is required in areas of difficult access, or where it is desired to complete an investigation rapidly with minimal disturbance. All the components of the drill, and the drill rods and water pump that are additionally required may easily be accommodated in the back of a LWB Landrover or similar vehicle. Once on site the equipment can be carried to and between drilling locations with relative ease.
The economic advantages of the GEODRILL HD33 stem from its light weight, its uncomplicated drilling procedure, and the relatively low cost of the slim diameter boring tools.
From the time of the arrival at a location it should not take longer than 10 minutes to assemble the equipment and given a water supply, start drilling. Water requirements at 12 ltr/min are so low that recirculation and settlement pits are quite unnecessary: a ½ inch hose will provide to the drill a more than adequate flow of water.
The small diameter boring tools are not only light to haul and transport, but they are also relatively inexpensive. A feature which will be readily appreciated when it comes to diamond bit replacement, perhaps the single most important cost of diamond drilling.
